TIPS TO EATTING OUT
Around this time of year everyones calendars start to fill up pretty quickly with social catch ups and family gatherings before Christmas! This is a common time for people to stress about food and this can really ruin a good night out. The first thing to remember is that you need to enjoy yourself, don’t feel guilty for having a life and enjoying that salty bow of chips. We need to remember that life happens and having a social life is very healthy for us, we just need to make sure theres some balance. Below are some tips to try and reduce the stress of eating out this time of your, but remember to enjoy !
· First find the vegetables! Whatever you’re having you want it to be based around veggies.
- Look at how it’s cooked, we opt for grilled if its available but don’t beat yourself up about how it’s cooked.
- Find a form of protein and fat on your plate. Protein and fat will fill you up much faster than something full of sugar.
- Try and eat slowly, putting your knife and fork down between bites
- Eat your veggies first, if you’re out at the pub or something try fill up on the good stuff.
- DON’T ADD SALT, they key to good take away is fat covered in tasty salt so don’t add anymore there is more than enough hidden in there already.
- Don’t try and plan ahead! This just ruins the run of eating out and expectations when things don’t go to plan, so again try to enjoy and not stress about it !
- If you’re having something with dressing, ask for it on the side. They’re only made of sugar and fat.
- Try to only have water when ordering a drink; coke and milkshakes are just a waste of perfectly good food space!
- Try fasting prior to a big meal out ! And by this I don’t mean starve your self, just try and have a clean window to make sure everything you have already eaten has been digested properly.
